On the agenda:
Do you know what is happening in the Legislative Session that could affect you?
(Hint: A lot!) The state legislature is proposing to allow local minimum wage rules which will significantly harm restaurants in Colorado by creating a patchwork of wages across the state, may drive up litigation as employee and employers try to negotiate complex layered enforcement mechanisms, and will separate Colorado from more than two thirds of the country who keep minimum wage a matter of statewide concern.
In addition, we are trying to change proposed legislation regarding a state-mandated Family and Medical Leave Insurance program. This bill expands beyond the federal FMLA.
Other issues we'll discuss include: Equal Pay law, Tip Pooling Signage revisions, Dogs on Patios, revisions to the Health Inspection program and more...
How can we all work together?
We welcome Steve Olson of B2B CFO as he covers Prime Costs and Marketing ROI. He will highlight the importance of measuring and tracking revenue and associated prime costs, as that is the revenue driver of a restaurants less the associated costs. Anything left over must pay for all marketing, general and administrative expenses and leave (hopefully) a profit. Pennies count! He will also discuss return on investment for marketing as an example of the importance of tracking the costs that are incurred to support the investment.
The meeting and education programming is followed by a networking reception.
