The CRA met with Gov. John Hickenlooper last night for a roundtable discussion on topics important to our industry. We thank the Governor for his hospitality and interest in learning more about us and to share his experiences with us as well.
Commonly referred to as the most popular reception of the season among legislators, the CRA Blue Ribbon Reception always draws a large crowd. Restaurants are a powerful economic force, yet legislators and special interest groups introduce dozens of bills and regulations each year that could hurt the ability of restaurants to stay open. Join us at our annual CRA Blue Ribbon Legislative Reception to kick off the 2018 legislative session and show our state legislators the full force of our industry! Register Today!
Want to engage in another way? We are actively recruiting restaurants to participate in this year’s event. Participating restaurants must be able to provide 250 tastes, your own serving and cooking equipment and staff. If you are interested in participating, please complete this form. Any questions, contact Nicolle Montgomery at (303) 830-2972 or email@example.com
Want a reminder of what issues we faced at the legislature in 2017? Every year the CRA works diligently to track, monitor, and analyze the hundreds of pieces of legislation that are introduced each year. By prioritizing the bills that are affecting the restaurant community and business climate in Colorado, we are able to educate lawmakers and impact their opinions to ensure policy outcomes are favorable for restaurants and thousands of workers. Take a look at the 2017 Legislative Summary here.
More than 5,000 Colorado foodservice employees will face a crisis next year. The Colorado Restaurant Foundation has launched the Angel Relief Fund to support restaurant employees in need. There isn't an industry out there that cares for people like we do. It is an honor to care for the people who make every meal possible! You can still make a donation to help seed this fund. Want the latest food and menu trends for 2018? The National Restaurant Association released the results of the 2018 “What’s Hot” forecast. Every year the NRA reaches out to more than 1,000 chefs and survey their predictions on what restaurant themes, food and menu trends will be popular in the coming year. Quick answer… “Local, vegetable-forward, and ethnic-inspired menu items will reign supreme on menus in the upcoming year. Guests are implementing these trends in their own lifestyles and want to see them reflected in the food they eat at restaurants. In response, chefs are creating more items in-house and turning to global flavors to infuse their menus.” You can find the 2018 What’s Hot results here.
